„The environment in which I live is full of deception and blurred sentences. I also lie and say many things diametrically opposite to what I really think. Looking for a way out of this situation, I delve deeper and deeper into the past. Not only mine anymore but the people I still feel the attraction to. Sometimes, I feel that I look at the landscape or a street corner with their eyes.
I want to understand what they could and wanted to do, to be aware of every moment that needs to be experienced. The more I look within myself, the more clearly I see the dots connecting time and distance. Everything is connected. Most likely, that infinity is also full of lies, but I perceive them as my own and not experienced by others”-  Anna Heinrihsone, 2023

Anna Heinrihsone is (1970) one of the most renowned contemporary costume and stage designers in Latvia with international experience. Since 1995, she has created stage designs and costumes for more than 100 theatre plays in Latvia, Estonia and Russia. In parallel to stage, costume design and exhibition design, she also works in visual art – painting and drawing, regularly organizing solo shows and participating in group exhibitions. For the last fives years Anna Heinrihsone has used photographs from the family archive as a motif for her paintings. Focusing on the moments where the protagonists are liberated and emotionally close to one another.
